All applications are due by November 15th of the current year for funding the following year.
Grant applications will be reviewed by the Grant Committee by early December. Grants will be approved by the
NLVRHA board at the December Board of Directors meeting. Applicants will be notified afterwards.
Grantees will be invited to the NLVRHA Annual Banquet in February, where the grants will be formally announced.
Money will be paid only when the project is completed or in progress. This will be arranged between recipient and
the Grants Committee Chair. Funds must be used within a year of being awarded.
Eligible Organizations
Equine-related organizations operating within the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Iowa.
Must be registered as a non-profit or a youth organization such as 4H or FFA.
Must follow equal opportunity principals.
Projects should be compatible with NLVRHA Goals & Objectives:
Eligible proposals should expand or increase the work or outreach of the organization and may not be used for
general operating expenses.
Proposals should benefit people beyond the club members or owners of the non-profit. This grant will prioritize
projects focused on outreach beyond club members.
Grantee Obligations
Credit NLVRHA in any printed materials, and/or announcements at the event.
In order to receive reimbursement, you will need to provide a summary of your budget and expense details
including receipts and any photos that you’d like to share.

- Promote and/or support equine educational activities to include lessons, seminars or clinics, producing brochures, videos, web pages.
- Strengthen and facilitate communication among horse-related groups.
- Provide expertise, consultation, and advice in horse related matters.
- Not limited to any breed or discipline.
